    Default Folder opened background

Hello, I jailbroke my 4.2.1 iphone 4 using greenpois0n the other day, and I just installed a theme today. However, I noticed that when opening folders, the background is not the wallpaper set by the theme, but the background set from iphone settings. It looks perfectly fine when folders are closed and I'm just viewing the springboard. Is anyone else having this problem? I am using glasklart theme btw.

I also noticed that none of the folder icon images are working properly. The folder icons are the same as default even though the theme is supposed to have new ones.

    Thank you,
    ~Thorlax

    Hello

I noticed this too last night and today trying to figure out this madness. I have seen enough posts people stating the same problems so my question is it worth heading back to OS 4.0 and ditch 4.2.1?

After asking around and viewing on-line, it happens that a lot of these themes are for iOS 4.0 and older. Apple has changed it's iOS architectural- so you might not get the correct outcome of icons, bg, etc. i thought about downgrading to iOS 4.0 - still might?

I am looking at taking a array of different themes, icons to my preference and just creating my own and be done with it.. at least, I get to know the layout and learn something about the phone a little more in-depth.

That is what I have been doing, but I still haven't figured out how to fix this problem unfortunately. I decided to just get rid of the themes wallpaper and use the native iphone wallpaper for everything. Seems to be working alright now.

I'll help you guys out on what I know here's what you have to do to get your folder background working again if your still on 4.2.1.

Starting with 4.2.1 firmware some of the graphics have been renamed.

    -FolderIconBG.png becomes FolderIconBG~iphone.png
    [email protected] becomes FolderIconBG@2x~iphone.png
    -FolderSwitcherBG.png becomes FolderSwitcherBG~iphone.png
    [email protected] becomes FolderSwitcherBG@2x~iphone.png

In order to enable these graphics with 4.2.1. firmware you need to either rename some files found at: /var/mobile/Library/caches

    -com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.0
    -com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.1
    -com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.2
    -com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.3

It would be wise to rename them to 4, 5, 6, and 7. That way you have a back up of the files.

Place the 2 files you want inside this folder com.apple.springboard folder.

Do a re-spring and your good to go. You now have a folder icon back ground and a folder background.

    Hope this helps.

Upgraded my iPhone 4 to 4.2.1 last night, and I'm trying to fix this issue as well...Problem is, I don't even have that folder in that directory you just listed, dobbin. Any suggestions?

I'm also trying to figure out how to get rid of the annoying shadow at the bottom of the screen the is behind and slightly above the entire dock on the homescreen.

I had tried this, but I didn't move the cache files the first time. I'll try that when I get home and hopefully it works. Thank you.

You might have to go in Cydia and install afc2add, it might open up all your folders. Plus I also use the program I-FunBox because it works over USB.

Are you also talking about the Granite in the background? I haven't figured out how to fix that yet. But if you put a wallpaper in your winterboard folder it fixes it but that's the only way I know.

Don't know why it didn't work for you, I just tried it again on mine and it worked. Make sure you put these files,

    FolderIconBG~iphone.png
    FolderSwitcherBG~iphone.png

    in the
    bundles/com.apple.springboard folder.

Just make sure you delete the files ending in 0, 1, 2, 3. from var/mobile/library/caches.

The you should be able to respring and they should be there.

If you have a 4g the files are named different, just let me know.
