Slider creation problem
Hi
I am trying to make my own sliders for my 3G iphone with OS 3.1.3
and I have created sliders via GIMP and then followed a tutorial to make your own theme here: Hack that Phone - Make and use themes with WinterBoard
I looked at the slider section and followed it and it never worked.
I have the .pngs the correct size but when transferred they don't show up. I have looked at other slider themes via cydia using filezilla and have followed those setups and that has failed.
Could the problem be file size because the sliders i have are 8,000 bytes while the iphone sliders are 3,000 bytes.
I am still new to making themes so i maybe missing something very simple that is preventing me from completing my project.
Thanks in advanceLast edited by Lucario1138; 05-25-2010 at 05:02 PM.

That could be it or it could be where you're placing your slider in your theme.

@soulthoughts
I put the bundles folder in this way.
Theme name.theme/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI/(files)
Is that right??
also is their away to compress the png images further than what GIMP can give me??
Looking at the directories in the Iphone The pngs are found in privateframework/TelephonyUI.Framework. Do I need to change something in the file structure I have??Last edited by Lucario1138; 05-25-2010 at 05:50 PM.

That sounds right. Did you name your slider 'bottombarknobgray.png' without the quotes? It's either that or bottombarknobgreen but I don't recall off the top of my head. But I do know it's one of the bottombarknob files.
As far as gimp goes, I'm not familiar with it at all.

I tried renaming the file and no luck. I still can't figure out why it works with other themes but not mine. I still think that it is something to do with the file size. I will give that a try.So hence another question:
Anyone know a file compression program for the png files??

In GIMP is there an option to 'save for web?' If so, try that.

@soulthoughts
Thanks for the help. The "save for web" was not their so I tried to rewrite the name of the files and suddenly it worked I have no idea why it worked but the file name was different and I can't find why.
anyways thanks for the help

Interesting. Glad it worked though.
