how do i hide or remove the icon names on the springboard on my iphone 3g 3.1.2. i cannot find anything about it. please help thanks!

In WinterBoard, put a check by "No Unlocked Icon Labels"

It is there by default. Did you delete it? Don't believe there is any other way that I know of.

Here, you can SSH it into your phone, it is only a plist file so it will work.
