Center SMS Background?

I have noticed that when you create a background for SMS, when you rotate it to landscape, the background image is too small.

I increased the dimensions of the background so it would fit in landscape, but is there a better way than this? When you do this, the image is, of course, off centered.

Is there a way to make it expand/shrink, or at least be a "centered" image?

That doesn't really answer the question. I knowbit has to be a minimum of 480 x 375 to cover all edges.

My question is, is there a way to center justify the image through coding?
