How to change parts of a theme?
I tried searching but couldn't really find anything that would help so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.
I downloaded a pretty sweet BMW theme, but there's a couple things I want to change. The first one is the status icon. The actual name of that thing escapes me right now, but it's the spinning circle thing on a stock iPhone and Mac. The BMW theme replaces that with a blue sphere. That's it.
Pretty lame, IMO.
The other thing I want to change is the wifi icon. It's just a BMW emblem (which is cool and all
) since it doesn't really show signal strength. So I want to keep the theme but go back to the stock wifi and status icons.
I ssh'd the file to my desktop and went into the UIImages folder and found the blue ball .pngs (evidently it's called a progress gear?) and deleted all of those .pngs, but even after a hard reboot, it's the same blue ball thing.

I'd appreciate it.
I got it off Cydia. It's just called "BMW" so it shouldn't be hard to find.
Thanks,

I SSHed in and think I found what you wanted to delete. Could you tell me the names of the files that you actually deleted?
Edit: I'm putting this project on "Pause" because it's 2:30 in the morning where I live and I'm going to get some sleep. I'll try and tackle it tomorrow.

I basically just deleted everything with "project gear" (or something like that) in the file name. And anything with the little blue ball as a picture.
For some reason, I didn't see anything with "wifi" or "internet" in the name, and I didn't see a BMW logo, so I don't know how it's changing the wifi icon.

To delete all of the Wifi Bar files SSH into your device and navigate to /private/var/stash/Themes.xxxxx/BMW.theme/Folders/SpringBoard.app
From there delete these files
- Default_0_AirPort.png
- Default_1_AirPort.png
- Default_2_AirPort.png
- Default_3_AirPort.png
- FSO_0_AirPort.png
- FSO_1_AirPort.png

That thing.
Like I said, I went into the UIImages folder of the theme and deleted all the progress gear .pngs but it's still there. I dunno where else the theme saves those pictures.
Thanks for all the help, though.

Awesome, I did all that, rebooted and I have the default status icon and wifi icon back.

Thanks a bunch, NeoNightmareX.

But since I'm trying to customize this theme, how/where would I put new sounds? I'm assuming in the UIAudio folder, but I don't know if I have to give anything a certain name (like for receiving a new text, do I name it "NewText" or something?).
Thanks again.

/System/Library/Audio/UISounds
copy one of the sms-received#.caf (the # is 1-6, representing each stock sms ringtone in Settings) to your desktop, preferably the one you do not like...
then, you have to make whatever sound you wish to use for your new text message tone into a caf file...
use google, or ask around on here for how to make a caf file, some say you can create a file with iTunes to an ".aiff" file and then just rename the file extension from .aiff to .caf
good luck!!!
