Faster winterboard! Working Weather Icon!

I have found the answer to winterboard slowing down the iphone.

Add the, Http://david.ashman.com/apt/ repository to Cydia.

Then add the winterboard settings from this repository. It moves the winterboard settings into the system settings app. Within the new winterboard settings select the springboard only slider and hit the home button and the phone will respring and then I rebooted just for anality. The apps are now fast initializing and shutting down!

Also if your interested...

In that repository is an updated weather icon for the stock weather app. If installed along with Supreme Preferences, and the Katra or Klear weather icons you will have an updating weather icon. Note it will use the weather from the first page of the weather app.

Note: Supreme Preferences when selected within Winterboard changes the stock settings icon and adds a setting menu for itself in the settings app adding some configuration for weather icon and other nice features.

Keep an eye on David Ashman, weathericon - Google Code

Peace,

Cy

My springboard definately feels faster, glad I did it. Launching and closing apps is a lot more responsive, although not quite as fast as it is without winterboard installed.

Iy may just be perceptual right now (as in I{m expecting it to be faster therefor it feels faster,) but the settings app is nice so I'll definately keep it installed.

Hah, the other tip you give is kinda funny.
Enabling "Springboard only" effectively disables "Supreme Preferences," so you have to disable that which makes Winterboard faster to get those options...sucks

Ya, that is funny! HA HA
I do like the increased speed though.

Has anyone noticed decreased battery life?

Only downside I find so far is that my SMS tones don't work anymore (gonna have to get ToneFX's but I was planning on donating anyways)

As for battery life, it shouldn't really have any effect on it, it basically moved WB to the settings menu and doesn't let it apply themes to anything other than the springboard.

Can you explain this further? So then you can't theme apps etc?

Before downloading the app, the description clearly states that this feature will turn off themeing in other apps.
