I'm not convinced this is any better for my iPhone. Cool idea, though.

After installing Winterboard Settings, My springboard no longer lags or stutters. Thanks for the tip, CyberDad!

The option to "turn off hiding the winterboard icon" didn't work for me, the Winterboard icon stayed hidden no matter what, I couldn't even unhide it with sbsettings or categories. I had to uninstall "winterboard settings" for the winterboard icon to show up again. Not sure if switching to "Springboard Only" made my phone faster, but it did make my apps close faster (although they still close fast after unistalling winterboard settings). I'll stick with good ol' winterboard for now, I like being able to get in and switch stuff around fast.

What about the Winterboard update?
I haven't updated yet. I'm running 2G iphone 3.0
Will cydia put winterboard in the right folders or do I have to run your application again after the upgrade?

I really can't tell if there is a difference. We'll see how it goes. A lot of the iPhone's speed issue has to do with the amount of free (available) RAM.
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

and if you wanna use supreme preferences and only springboard setting for now you just have to change a file (Developer told me and it works)
"I'm looking at extending the settings to let you pick any app to apply WinterBoard to (Settings in this case). For now, you can manually do it by updating the /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/WinterBoard.plist file."
Has to look like the one attached. Permissions should be 0666

Installed a few days ago. Winterboard icon is hidden, apps are more responsive, phone seems a bit speedier. I'm some using image-heavy themes and phone isn't lagging. Good post!
