Yup, I'm having the same problem. Running on an iPhone 3G FW : 2.2
I upgraded a few minutes ago and now my backgrounds won't work, no text on home screen(shows custom icon but not the names), I have reinstalled winterboard twice and still no luck.
Any fix?

Great update. I'm consistently getting 2-3 addition MB.

How to do that?
Create new folder Per Page Wallpaper within /stast/themeXXY/
Copy your png files to that folder, naming them
Page0.png (page 1)
Page1.png (page 2)
Page2.png (page 3)
....
Activate it in winterboard

For those wanting an 'easy way' to create this new "Per Page Wallpaper" theme and the different png backgrounds ....
... try this ....
1) Using WinSCP, Commands, Open Terminal
mkdir /var/mobile/Library/Themes/Your-Theme-Name
2) On iPhone
Settings/Wallpaper, select picture, set a wallpaper. (A new LockBackground.jpg was created)
3) Using WinSCP/Terminal (from #1 above)
cp /var/mobile/Library/LockBackground.jpg /var/mobile/Library/Themes/Your-Theme-Name/Page'X'.png
don't forget to substitute a number [0,1,2 ...] for 'X'
4) Repeat 2-3 for each page (Page1.png, Page2.png, Page 3.png ...)
Respring or activate your new theme in Winterboard
Note 1: If you don't want a custom image for one of your springboard pages, omit that PageX.png. Winterboard uses the default 'black' background.
Note 2: If you have the patience and good typing skills, this can also all be done within MobileTerminal (without WinSCP or an external computer). The sequence and commands are identical.Last edited by Mes; 03-19-2009 at 12:33 PM. Reason: correct typo
