Problems getting certain icons to change when applying a WB Theme
I am having a difficult time applying a custom icon to several third-party & App Store applications when I apply a Winterboard theme I've been putting together???
I've created a WB theme folder and placed it in the following path: var/stash/theme.xxxxx/my_custom_theme folder. I've then created an Icons folder within that folder, which is where I am dropping in the icons for all of the apps I want to apply custom icons to.
Here are a couple examples of some of the apps that I am having a really hard time changing the icons for (by placing the custom icons in the aforementioned theme folder):
NetNewsWire
Urbanspoon
SmugShot
I've done my best to get the spelling and capitalization of the icons correct, but nevertheless, I cannot get these (and a couple other random icons) to change, no matter what I've tried!
Anyone have any idea how I can go about effectively applying a custom icon for these applications?

I am in the same boat....upgraded from 1.1.4 last night and applied vista theme to winterboard and the icons are messed up and can't figure out how to change them being customize has been retired. Cydia comes up as the windows logo (taskbar start icon). No icon for text which should be on the taskbar. And all icons go back to normal form once i put them in folders using categories. Any tutoring would be thanked!

You have probably not got them named correctly.
They need to match the apps folder name (example: "Safari.app" would be "Safari.png")...you can also get this info easier if you look on the original icon's name on the springboard (under pic where is shows the app name).
If they dont match exactly (caps and all) it wont load.Last edited by cpjr; 10-22-2008 at 11:55 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I found a solution!
Go into the Iphone's Directory with IphoneBrowser 1.8.1...click Library/Themes or Applications 1 by 1
Find the icon.png for the app and save it to desktop....
Open it in Paint Shop and edit the file how you want it to look i.e. cut the icon out...paste the themed icon in its place....Save it as the original in .png format onto your desktop.
Relocate the icon in iphonebrowser...right click...click on replace file....then select the icon you edited off the desktop....turn off iphone and restart it and icon shows up.....
Figured out that I could make my own theme by going through each icon and doing this...even make the sounds in Acid Pro....I like the thought of that....i might have to put my imagination to work
