Is winterboard capable of changing the carrier logo??? Thanks!

Or you can use customize like i did... download a fileset for carrier and then just replace that with my own image


any fileset image is fair game for creating your own... i changed my carrier and alarm icon

yes it is,
the carrier logo is called "FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png" and "Default_CARRIER_ATT.png" and is located in the springboard app.

this thread will tell you how to do it.
go down till you see the sentence that starts wih these words "now to change an image on the springboard " and follow the directions.

Just wondering...@opusandbill...which one should FSO and Default be...cuz I know there are different ones for the status bar on the springboard and once an app is open...as in the black status bar and then the silver one

sorry I do not know that answer, I used "make it mine" before winterboard came out and MIM deleted the files. i just know that those are the names.

FSO is for the dark background or white graphic and the Default is for lighter background or is the black graphic.

Actually it is no longer located in the Springboard app. It is now under Carrier Bundles. Only because I spent 2hrs. making my own winterboard theme and trying to change the carrier image!

you are right.
try this
to change the AT&T carrier logo add this folder to your theme:

com.apple.ATT_US

you should have:
/Library/Themes/(your theme)/Bundles/com.apple.ATT_US

these are the 2 pngs:
FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png
Default_CARRIER_ATT.png

im on rogers

im matching the spelling with rogers bundle found in the carriers bundles:
com.apple.Rogers_ca
and inside my two graphics i made:
Default_CARRIER_ROGERS.png
FSO_CARRIER_ROGERS.png


following above.. but substituting ATT_US with Rogers_ca

what am i doing wrong?

its not working

not sure why it is not working if you followed the path in my last post it should work.

If you are using a 3g phone that may be the problem.

as a matter of fact i am using a 3g phone
why is there another way to do a 3g phone or is it not compatible
do i need to adjust or build a new plist file somewhere?

it should work through winterboard.
make sure that you have this path: /Library/Themes/(theme name)/Bundles/com.apple.Rogers_ca

regarding 3g I have seen several post were people where having problems getting everything with winterboard to work. Saurik (who made winterboard) probably has a 2g phone.

i did what you said.. still didnt work
but
i peaked inside the info.plist for the carrier bundle
and saw it called for:

/Library/Themes/Canadian.theme/Bundles/com.apple.ROGERS
->Default_CARRIER_ROGERS.png
->FSO_CARRIER_ROGERS.png
->Info.plist
->carrier.plist
so i changed it to that directory named above(tried everything else)
and it worked instantly !!!!
YEEEESSSSS!

btw this is the factory default:
/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Rogers_ca.bundle
->Default_CARRIER_ROGERS.png
->FSO_CARRIER_ROGERS.png
->Info.plist
->carrier.plist


and now it works perfectly
