Thread: WinterBoard Update

  1. #21
2.0.1 installed by winpwn, T-Mobile, Cydia, Boss Pref, Open SSH, (had customize but removed it thinking that might be the prob) and winterboard. The only ones we have in common are the most common apps. I dont think it is the apps...

Not working here either on 3G iPhone with 2.0.1. I even did a fresh restore and still nothing.

I noticed that no matter what I check / reorder in the list, it doesn't stay that way after I respring. It goes back to the original ordering and with nothing checked. Permissions problem maybe?

seems as if people who had it on there already and just updated it, it works for. i just pwned my phone 2.0.1 and the new version of winterboard is the first installed. maybe fresh install of the new version is no good. can you guys say whether you were updating or fresh installing it?

  6. #26
Its a no go on my 8gig 2G, used winpwn to jailbreak 2.0.1 on ATT.

  7. #27
my only thought could be that people who updated from a previous version has it working, but people who did a fresh install doesn't?

  8. #28
Are you guys dragging your selections to the top of the winterboard screen? After you check mark it, press and hold the three lines to the right of it and move the selection to the top of the list. That is what worked for me.

Most of the NEW features works except one which is the Black Navigation Bars feature. Its very buggy, its on effect even its not chosen in the list.

People mention that the settings are unselected when they respring.
Try checking the permissions of this file....
    /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.saurik.WinterBoard.plist
...that where winterboard saves its settings.
Mines 0644 and my winterboard works.

I am doing a fresh install. Had my 3g Jailbroken before the 2.0.1 updated. Got caught in the auto update... go figure. Re-Jailbroken with winpwn. Tried to install winterboard got it installed. Having the sqame exact problems as the other people here. Ie..

    1. After selecting the themes or settings in winterboard it resprings to nothing if anything the screen is a little brighter.

I restarted the iphone before and after install and uninstall. Tried to reinstall over the install no go. Then uninstalled and reinstalled again.

Iphone 3G on At&T. Winpwn with aurora Fient, Holdem, AIM, Mod Player and a couple others... Any help from Saurik?

I think it might be mostly a WINPWN problem over anything else, that seems to be the common ground between most of us with this problem.

Mine is a 16GB iPhone 3G w/ 2.0.1 fresh installed winpwn, with no applications loaded onto the phone except for Winterboard and the theme Vending Machine. The phone checks the theme and after pressing the home button it resprings, but never loads the theme.

I too am experiencing the brighter looking screen after the re-spring.

SO that was the problem. Good Idea Paez. I took the Plist (Info.plist) file out of the Winterboard application folder moved it to my desktop changed the name to what you provided (com.saurik.WinterBoard.plist) and moved it to the preferences folder. Made sure it was set to 644 and now it works. I love to solve a mystery.... Yay.
