05-31-2012, 09:55 AM #1Tunnel / ICS Possible via Cable for iDevices?
I've worked with iDevice stuff for a while and am fortunate enough to own many different devices. I am also familer with how to set up wireless configurations as my career is in IT. To connect to my iDevice, I've used wireless solutions such as SSH or SCP as well as hard connections using iFunBox or DiskAid.
Here's my question: Is there a way to set up the iPhone so that it can get network / internet access over the sync cable - not wireless? I would think that there would be a way to do so, but perhaps not.
I'm sure many will ask why I want to and not just use wireless or an app to share a local network over wireless, but there are times that I would need it.
What do you think? Thanks!

I've been searching hard on this topic for several years now. (yes, years). I don't know if I have poor searching skills or what, but I've found no such cabled tethering option as that. (...unfortunately). If you happen to find something, I'd love to hear it!My brain has an error at line 300: In function brainInitialize: the function "sarcasm" may not respond to "init".

PDANet in USB tether mode & install PDANet for iPhone on your windows/mac.
That'll give you an Internet connection over sync cable.
