iphone dead please HELP

my phone wont work after running app tapp, all i get is the apple sign and a caution sign that says "please connect to itunes". The plug accidently came out if the phone when app tapp was running. When i connect and try to restore it errors out and says: "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error occoured (6)."

PS. The phone was never unlocked and i never tried to unloak it

When I am in the iTunes summary I see:

Name: iPhone
Capacity: n/a
Software Version: n/a
Serial Number: n/a
Phone Number: n/a

please define dead? is the screen black, it doesnt power up, its frozen, have you tried holding power and home?
