restore iphone w/o update

Hello,

When you restore the iPhone trought iTunes it restores the phone the updates it with the newest firmware.

I need to restore a phone because my friend did not install summer board before installing a bunch of random apps thus pushing the installer icon down to a point where he cannot access it.

Is there a way arround this without restoring the phone or can some one tell me if there is a way to restore it without updating the phone to the newest firmware?

Install Summerboard from iBrickr. That might work for you.

Edit displayorder.plist in /system/library/CoreServices/spingboard.app and put installer further up the list so it shows on the springboard. Reboot phone to reload springboard
