if ssh-ing means using ifile on the ipod and cmd on PC , yes , I had had some experience with each separately but none with both at the same time like sshing a Ipod from PC

and install it on your computer.(may require restart)
once its installed open the program
on the right there should be a list of buttons.
In host name type in the IP address of your iPod
username is "root" (without quotations)
and the default password is "alpine" (without quotations)
then click ok
select the new entry in the main list and click log on
You may get a popup about Keys or something click yes
the left panel is you iPod and the right panel is your computer

What I use to edit the files on my iPod Touch is iFunbox. You don't need to do all that complicated reconfiguring. Just download it, run it, and enjoy

you need iFunBox or iSpirit to do it!
and need to install afc2add form cydia.
for editing .plist files; you need "plistet" or "notepad++" !
