ok i tried looking this up everywhere but cant seem to find the solution.
i have a 2g iphone, unlocked, cant remember the firmware but it was 3.? not the latest one though, so one day i was talking on it next thing you know it showed the "connect to itunes" message and it died, black screen, wont turn on, wont take dfu mode, itunes wont recognize it, connecting it to the wall charger wont do anything either, i just dont know what it is, ive tried all that it is regarding pushing buttons and stuff but cant get it to work, i'm thinking it could be the battery cuz of some stuff i read but really have no idea what this is.
Nothing better to do now, then to take it apart and replace the battery. Before you do that, try plugging it into an accessory like a car charger or stereo to see if it charges. Had the same problem on my 2g, ended up selling it because i couldn't figure it out.
But it may charge via an accessory, then you will be able to tell if its the battery or something more devastating like a motherboard issue.
Seems like a main part of the motherboard has failed.
Worse comes to worse, buy a broken screen 2g and swap out the internals. Should only run you about 50-75 bucks now days.
Or, you could send it to me and i can try my luck. Maybe i can fix it, maybe not. Would only cost you parts ( if i find the problem) n return shipping. Im looking for publicity...got a few people letting me work on their stuff.
