Ituness wont sync music/playlist

i have a mp3 collection, i created a playlist, dragged and dropped mp3s into playlist and synced. Itunes syncs real quick and says it's finished but doesnt sync my music. I tried manually managing music, restarting iphone, restarting computer. i dont have the lastest itunes though, should i upgrade? or will it affect jailbreaking/unlocking?

this has happened before. i forgot what i did to fix it (probably gave up)

In iTunes, did you select the playlists that you wanted to sync?

ie: Plug iPhone into the computer, Open iTunes click on your phone in the left panel, click on the 'music' tab. I always select just the playlists i want to sync. Once you do that press 'Sync' in the right corner.
