Firmware Restor(e) (In class, pardon spelling errors.)

I'm going to be exchanging my iPhone today due to the sealing around the faceplate coming out and I want to restore the iPhone and get rid of all my custom icons and the such. Would the Restore feature in iTunes and the reinstallation of the firmware get rid of these and set everything back to the way it was?
