Restore without updating?
im trying to restore my iphone version 111 but itunes only gives me the option to restore AND update. Is there any way i can just restore and not update to 1.1.4?

Shift-click on Restore (PC) or Option-Click Restore (Mac) and then simply browse to the location of your 1.1.4 Firmware file.
Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.

If you haven't already, select "download but don't install" Firmware 1.1.4
It will save to your iTunes folder on your computer. When you plug in your iPhone and it's synced with iTunes, you can Shift-click anytime you like.Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.
