How do you put files into the /private/var folder on your iPhone?

DiskAid also works using the USB cable --- but WinSCP (on Windows) is the best.

Is there a reason for /private/var?
AirSharing also works great, allows Web acces, but restricts the location to it's own private area, available on AppStore at a nominal charge.

So I just download Winscp, install it, close iTunes, and it works over my wifi network?

For DiskAid, I just download it, install it, connect my iPhone 3G to my computer via a usb cable, close iTunes, and it works through the usb cable?

Also, I want to put files into /private/var because I have a TV capture card that I have set to automatically record shows, and I want to be able to watch them on my iPhone without having to convert them to .mp4. I will be able to put them into the /private/var/media folder and play them with a media player from cydia.

You need OpenSSH on the phone. Then WinSCP into the phones IP address as root, pwd alpine. Full access
