Default iPhone 2G on Vodafone, India.

    Hi!
I have an unlocked 2G iPhone. I had to unlock it earlier. But now, Vodafone is an official provider.
So my question is, can I update my 2G iPhone officially, in itunes, without requiring to unlock it?
Is there anyone in India who has tried to update to the latest firmware on a 2G iPhone, officially, through itunes?
I ask this because 2G iPhones were never sold in India and I dont want to screw up anything.
    Thank you very much!

No, the phone would still be "locked" to whatever carrier it was made for initially. I am going to assume you bought one from the US, meaning it was tied to AT&T.
