iPhone and iTunes on Vista x64

Hey MMi! My dad is in a quandry. He has an iPhone, as well as me, unjailbroken. However, he uses a computer with Vista x64 (Not my choice ). Every time he tries to plug his iPhone in, it won't recognize, saying that Vista x64 is not supported with an iPhone with iTunes. Is there a way to bypass that? He is willing to jailbreak if it means he can DIRECTLY (not through a network) sync to the computer.

Any ideas? I'm sure there is *some* way to get this to work.

There is 'some way' to get it work. Use DBAN to completely wipe your HDDs and install a copy of XP 32-bit. Otherwise, not gonna work.

I hate to say it, but there's absolutely no way that the iPhone will work on Vista x64 or XP 64bit for that matter. Trust me I know, because that's what I used and had to format my Hard Drive to install Vista 32 bit just because of my iPhone.

So don't waste your time looking for a way to get the phone to work on the 64 bit OS, because it won't mate! Hope that helps... I know it sucks

I did further research, and right now, I'm thinking that it's an iTunes problem. I also figure that at Macworld, Apple will release a new version of iTunes that will mesh better with an SDK. Perhaps they can fix it then?

Switching to x86/32-bit is not plausible, as he needs all 8 gigs of his RAM. Thanks for your experiences though.
