I am running firmware 2.2 and I am also getting an error, mine says that it doesn't like the password. I retried a dozen times as well as tried different passwords.
I just found the correct password on a differt website. The password for Winscp has been changed from "dottie" to "alpine".Last edited by jmhays; 12-28-2008 at 08:53 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Ha - this is as outdated as it gets. We use Cydia now.

Thanks for the info, I was just following your GUIDE: Installing 3rd Party Apps! Maybe it's time to update that document. Or is there a more recent version I should be following?

I've updated it - its also not in any of the menus, musta missed it when cleaning up. Read the giant red lettering across the top - all you do is jailbreak, and you will have Cydia, which is lthe best way to install apps.
