I am trying to restore my iphone to rehack it. I use itunes to retore to 1.1.1 and i keep getting the message "The iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1011).

Can anyone help???

Connect your phone to your PC, hold the sleep and home buttons, you will here windows find a new device, keep holding, then itunes will eventually recognise it in DFU mode, try to restore from here.

Or you could use ibrickr and see if that will boot your phone

This works but does not recognize the there is a sim in it and again restoring it takes it to the same position as before.

If you didn't reboot your PC, give that a try. Sometimes the iTunes services get confused.
