Can I upgrade my unlocked 1.0.2 iphone to 1.1.1?

My question is I have an unlocked 1.0.2 iphone. Can I get the new 1.1.1 firmware on my phone? If so, do I need to update it first to 1.1.1 and then unlock it or what exactly are the steps? Thanks!

I know if you have a 1.1.1 firmware, you downgrad it to 1.0.2 and then unlock it. What I'm talking about is that my phone came with 1.0.2. I want to know is it possible for me to get 1.1.1 on my phone and unlocked after or am I just stuck on 1.0.2 forever? Thanks.

You need to restore and revirginize your 1.0.2. Then you upgrade to 1.1.1. And then re-unlock your phone.
