iPhoneBrowser can't change the attributes, after you copy an app to the phone, you must use another tool (MobileFinder, MobileTerminal, Squid) to change the attributes of the program to be 755 (activate executable bits).

Depends on how it was installed, and what has happened since...

For example, if you copied it in with iPhoneBrowser, it won't show up unless you fix permissions on the folder and it won't run unless you fix permissions on the program file.

Here's my question. I did a jailbreak on my phone using ziphone.org. I would like to download some of the files from this site but I have had the hardest time figuring out how to get them actually onto my phone. I downloaded iphonebrowser but when I plug my phone in it tells me that my phone has not been "broken". I can't figure this out at all. Any suggestions?

    larigirl:

Your problem is ZiPhone doesn't install the afc2 service (which is the original meaning of jailbreak). Since you didn't mention firmware, I suggest searching this site for afc2 (or Google) to find different ways to install this.
