AT&T SIM with non-iPhone plan and 1.1.1

I'm sorry if this has been addressed before, but I was not able to find it using the search. can someone please let me know if anyone has been able to hack 1.1.1 so that a user can use an AT&T SIM that is not connected to an iPhone plan? I have my 1.0.2 iPhone setup this way, so that I can bounce back and forth with my company provided cellphone, but I haven't found any directions for how to do it with 1.1.1.

To be clear, what I'd like to do is roll back to a clean 1.0.2 (revigirnize if I need to), upgrade to 1.1.1, and then hack it so that I can use my normal AT&T SIM. The directions I had before walked me through it using a jailbreaker and some other tools, but I lost the site that gave me those directions.

Can anyone point me in the right directions? I'm not a huge programmer, so a GUI based (PPS OS X or Windows please) method is about the only thing I'm comfortable with.

If such a method does not yet exist, please let me know, and I'll go back to waiting for those of you that are so good at this.
