    Default ringtones for sms/email

    Hi i was able to customize my ringtones for the sms/email on my 102 iphone using ibrickr. i was wondering if there are any ways to do the same thing for 111 phones? thanks

    you have to do it manually with ssh or iphonebrowser or similar program depending on mac or pc. The files were renamed sms-received1.caf through sms-received6.caf. You can take the sound you want, change the name to one of the existing to overwrite it or name it with a 7. Then upload it to system/library/audio/uisounds

    oh i c...im using windows so i know what to do. anyways does the ringtones format need to be ma4?

    i tried using iphonebrowser to replace my file. i change my ringtone to a m4a format then rename it as sms-received6.caf to replace the last one i believe is the electronic ringtone. but now when i go into the phone it doesnt ring or anything. do u know why?

    Can't help you, but can we just add more sounds and continue the number? I.E., can we add sms-received7.m4a, sms-received8.m4a, etc? Or can there only be 6 sounds?

    Hey, i'm kinda new here and haven't jailbreaken my iphone. BUt i hear a lot here that u guys change custom ringtones for sms/email. Does the phone has to be jailbreaken in order to do it? I got custom ringtones to work for incominb calls without jailbreak.. any chance to do the same for sms/email? in my iPhoneBrowser i don't see System folder

    you need to convert the file you want to use as an SMS alert to .aiff, then rename that to .caf. the files must be converted to .aiff first. you can't simply rename a .m4a to .caf.

    the easiest way to convert mp3 is to download goldwave its free, convert your song to .aif and then rename to .caf! hope this helps! plus u can edit out sections you wont! if anyone wants help pm me with the file and ill edit it out just give me start and stop point

    i have followed the instrucntions u gave me. change the mp3 to .aif then rename it .caf then i replace the file sms-received6.caf with the new sms-received6.caf and it doesnt play for some reason.
