To update or not

i was just wondering if i should update to 1.1.1 i have 1.0.2 running and was wondering if there was enough apps running/working etc. to update or should i wait for a little more progress to be made!

Any input is appreciated if you have updated to 1.1.1 and jailbroken your phone can you let us know if ,in your opinion, it is worth it also whats the biggest bummer besides summerboard not working!

SummerBoard is working, along with almost all apps already out.
If you don't mind going through ALL the steps, then go for it, but if you'd like a GUI version, wait a little bit.

its not the steps I'm worried about i just wanted to know if there are still a lot of bugs that would interrupt me enjoying my phone

there is no reason to wait, as long as you follow the steps and give yourself some time and patients, there is currently zero reason to wait, because you will eventually update anyway. Its true that all the apps dont work yet, but for the most part they do. The update works and is well written out by unclear, as far as apps go, they will catch up and none of them are mission critical so. go for it!

except we don't know if there will be another update that will break all of this again. As I said before, I'm staying on something I know works.

yeah minus a new update, but then again that will happen regardless. If we live in fear and wait, we will be living in fear forever apple will continue to update this phone and stop us ... booo them

I am pondering the update, but my mind says theres no reason to:

-They state 1.1.1 has better volume, but alot of modders state same as 1.0.2, or we can increase volume by editting plist files. So no bigger

- 1 bar service fixed----not sure but 1 bar gets me failed call with 1.0.2, does thsi actually make 1 bar = 2 bars strrength visually or did they fix reception - no one really reported on this

- music store -- who cares and through edge very expensive

Its unclear why upgrading as its just using 1.1.1 firmware with 1.0.2 baseband, so 1.1.1 really not unlocked till its baseband is unlocked, which i beleive apple will check in future firmware for proper baseband for firmware.

I'm undecided, but from the tutorials looks doable by a newbie. But I'd rather have a reason to update rather than bogus claims of new features.

i sucked it up and went through the 6 or so guides and i offically am running 1.1.1 with installer.app i had a little trouble with ssh but it was my first time using winscp so i guess it went better than i thought now im off to install summerboard alpha hope all goes well with this also i just relized with a little research no cutom ringtones yet for 1.1.1
