Question
Hi,
Is it possible to create a custom .ipsw from your current iPhone state (pre-iPwn)? (like without iPwning it first, which erases all your current apps, settings, etc.)
Just wondering if it can be done, as I like my iPhone the way it is.
Thanks,
Sam

Hi people.
I'm from Spain, so excuse my english.
I am a blogger from www.iphoniac.com, a iphone/gadgets/news website.
Want to make you a question about this guide. Can I use the guide images to make a spanish tutorial about Pwnage usage?
Of course, linking to this page as reference.
Thanks

After PwnageTool recognize the ispsw file unzipping it to temp, I get the dialog box for reboot. Then a lot of text scrolls over the Iphone, and in the end I can read that failed to Patch rc=4, failed to patch Apple image norse22 some numbers.
Anybody knows whats wrong. Appreciate any help with this.
Thanx

Private Backup
This question has been already posed but I'll add my twist. We spend considerable time configuring and customizing our phones. It's easy to "hack the phone to death" sort of speak. Rather than start over, a restore from a "customized" ipsw (including apps, configuration, etc.) could be a real advantage. These new tools (pwnage) beg the question. Anybody? Thanks,
Steve

Pwnage will not load
When I try to Pwn my iphone, it will not complete the iPwner section.
This what i should see but it always says 'close itunes- CANCEL'
instead of the 'Your iphone/itouch os now being Pwned please wait for re-boot - OK'
I have a 1.1.4 upgraded with ziPhone 2.6
How can i get past this stage.
I am also using a different computer(MAC) from its usual sync(PC)

When I download the included firmware, all I get is a folder...no firmware. Am I not downloading it correctly?

Pwner doesn't complete
I am having a similar problem. After my iPhone scrolls thru all that code, it says that a patch is not found. So I can't get to the second page of the usage guide. My phone restarts back to normal.
I have a 1.1.3 (1.1.2 OTB) upgraded with ziphone
EDIT: Sorry I missed the part where you are required to be running 1.1.4 I will retry after upgrading to 1.1.4Last edited by elsgk2; 04-29-2008 at 12:44 PM. Reason: Found problem

I've already searched this thread if Pwnage Tool can be used with an iPhone which has been unlocked using iPhoneSimFree and activated via INdependence. But it seems no one's mentioned it.
So could I use Pwnage Tool to upgrade my 1.1.2 (IPSF) iPhone to 1.1.4?
Thanks in advance.

Dumb question from a newbie
I presume that if I have (which I do) a phone that has been upgraded to 1.1.4 via iTunes and then Jailbroken, Unlocked and activated with Ziphone, which I'm not happy with, then I firstly need to restore to factory settings in iTunes so as to re-brick my phone and then use pwn?
