    Default Is it Possible?
I had a 3GS, received my iPhone4 today, and activated it as well.
However I was going to give my girlfriend my 3gs and unlock it, as she is a T-Mobile member.
since I activated my iPhone4 is there anyway to unlock the 3gs?
    any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

pop in a friends activated ATT sim install cydia install ultrasn0w ... unlock, remove SIM...
insert T-Mobile SIM, should be ok.

What I ended up doing is calling AT&T, told them I forgot to take some 'files'. Luckily they reactivated the phone lol.(no service unless wifi).
However since I updated to OS4 from 3.1.2, I can not get it jailbroken / unlocked yet =\.
Hopefully Geo will have something out soon, until then, I must play the waiting game lol.
    Appreciate the input though!

You can unlock the 3gs with Ultrasn0w in cydia, I know cause mine is unlocked right now, this is 3.1.3 and 4.0

you cannot unlock a 3gs new bootrom as there is no released way to jailbreak it yet
