Isn't there another way to make the process simpler? I find this harder than Installer repos ever were.

I'm having some problems with this...

I can get the repo working fine... Index of /cydia/upload
Yet, for some reason, when I click on my repo in the source section on Cydia, it locks up the iPod sorta and then after a while goes to the SpringBoard.

Does anyone know why this is doing this?

I am able to add your repo with no problems. I see you have one app called Pools Closed and that it was created in Linux!

I don't wanna sound invasive, but could you tell me what state you live in?
I'm having some troubles with people accessing my site Leon Blog - For all your blogging needs! because I'm hosting it on a Ubuntu Server downstairs on my network.

So I'm not sure exactly what is wrong, it could be like a local thing or not... Thanks!

And yeah, I made it on Linux
It actually compiles on the device itself, I just SSH into the device.

Also, can you tell me what you are using?
iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G, iPhone, iPhone 3G
My friend is having trouble installing the app onto his iPod Touch 1G so I'm not sure why, so if you can get it installed, please tell me what device you have.

Okay, so back on topic lol.
It freezes for a few minutes, but then it finally shows the listings.
So it must be my iPod then... thanks for the help.

How do I get my repo to update?
I made a new package for my repo, but the only way for it to show up is if you remove the source and re-add it.

How do I get it to automatically update to show new packages?

Sounds like you didn't update the Packages file, then rezip to create the Packages.gz. You must run the dpkg-scanpackages again after adding the new .deb file to the deb folder. Then rezip it.

No I did that, because in order for the packages to update, you just remove the repo and add it again...

Once you add the .deb file to the deb folder, update the Packages file and rezip the Packages.gz, all you have to do it reupload all three items (deb folder, Packages, Packages.gz) to your repo. Overwrite the previous file versions. When you start Cydia, the repo will automatically refresh. You do not have to remove and add the repo each time.
