NO, NO, NO!!!! If you have a phone with 1.0.2 firmware, DO NOT CHECK THE LAST BOX (unlock box). Maloo...you are a fool!!! Anyone who follows this moron will enjoy a bricked iPhone!!! Also, as stated many times in this very very easy guide, if you have 1.1.1 firmware or lower, do not check the last box. Lastly, if you have question regarding this very, very, very, very easy guide, you should not be messing with your iPhone.

Casanova, please get your facts right before posting. My Iphone is 100% working perfectly. The 2.3 ZIphone software supports the 1.0.2 firmware-go check. The MMI guide is 2 days out of date as I write this

Help
Hiya
I have an iPhone 1.0.2 and followed the steps from the Tutorial to change it to 1.1.3 and everything went flawless until i reached the final step. I just used AnySim and after the unlocking process, I got an error (Sim Failure). I dont get signal. I swapped the Sim and that error didnt appear but still I have No Signal/Service (upper left).
Can I ReRun AnySim?
Restoring to a fresh 1.1.3 via iTunes wont cause any damage to the phone?
Can I repeat the process all over again?
Any clues on what to do next?
Yours
Canelo
Well i solved the problem.
I just restored to 1.1.3 and downloaded the newest version of ZiPhone which allows you to unlock 3.9BL iPhones. Ticked 3 boxes and voilį, got my 1.1.3 Unlocked iPhone Working.Last edited by Canelo; 02-17-2008 at 05:58 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

02-18-2008, 02:40 AM #25The baseband fixer doesn“t work, it gets me "Execution script errorYour locate me feature will not work b/c this method flashes your baseband to 4.02. You may be able to reflash it to 4.03 using the iClarified source.

Yes, I tryed again and it works, but sometimes, somehow, with complete new iphones there“s a problem restoring to 1.1.3 with otb 1.1.2 iphones. Shows an error and I have sometimes to restore again and again or and use independence to enter DFU mode because buttons can“t, or to kick the iPhone from DFU mode to run ZiPhone aftedr an error restoring to 1.1.3.This is not risky if you follow the instructions. Did you RESTORE to 1.1.3 to start clean? Are you using the OSX GUI from MMI or did you download something else? windows?

Does anyone know if this method works with a IPSF license ?
I got a 1.1.1 phone the week they were released (before anysim was working with 1.1.1 baseband). I downgraded to 1.0.2 and bought IPSF.
Other methods seem to require an application called signal.app is this still required when upgrading to 1.1.3 (the IPSF website hasn't been upgraded in 3 months) ?
Thanks

There's no need to virginize... I was in the same case as you and I did this:
1.- Download Firmware 1.1.3.
2.- Restore iPhone to 1.1.3 (Press Option + Click on Restore, then find the .ipsw file downloaded before).
3.- Once Finished, Close iTunes.
4.- Download ZiPhone 2.3 OSX from ziphone.org (Keep in mind u need the 2.3 VERSION).
5.- Tick 3 Boxes: Jailbreak, Activate and Unlock, and press Start (Probably iTunes will open during the process, dont press anything til the process finished)
Done
If u have any question, just pm me.

Well, on the part of "Restoring" I used Option+Restore so I could select the firmware 1.1.3 and restore using it(I didnt use Update Button).
Try this and download the ZiPhone 2.3 for OSX, close iTunes and tick 3 boxes.
I dont have any other clue.
Canelo~
I had problems following this tutorial, so I decided to try by myself and got my 1.1.3 unlocked iPhone.
Follow this:
Restore it Again.
Close iTunes.
Download latest version of ZiPhone.
Tick 3 Boxes of ZiPhone.
Press Start.
I dont know if ZiPhone works fine on Vista.

ludicrously simple!
Was on 1.1.1 jailbroken / unlocked (with anysim ) / week 38 iphone.
This was performed on macbook running 10.5.2 ( leopard )
Running itunes 7.6
* Installed the latest ZiPhone 2.4 for OS X (with GUI ) from here:
http://downloadziphone.org/ZiPhoneOSX-2.4.tbz
* extracted ( using firefox clicked on open ).
* read the README ( click about / readme ) just to be safe
.
* restored iphone to 1.1.3 ( clicked restore and followed all the default screen prompts )
* once restored itune's displayed "unknown sim" white screen while iphone displayed the wire and itunes disc icons with the unlock slider showing "unlock in emergency" in 3 different languages.
* while itunes and iphone still in above state ran ZiPhone with all 3 of the standard options selected ( Jailbreak, Activate and unlock ) and clicked "start"
* got the following info in ZiPhone's progress log:
* During the process itunes reports a number of things but eventually reports that a new iphone has been connected.Code:ZiPhone v2.4 by Zibri. http://www.ziphone.org Source code available at: http://www.iphone-elite.org Loading zibri.dat. i386 Searching for iPhone... Entering recovery mode. Working... Please wait 2'30". ERROR: ziphone returned 1
* During the process the iphone itself displays lines of code (what the program is doing ) in white. Eventually the iphone returns to the friendly world background with my network carrier in the top left!
* Disconnected my iphone from the cable, restarted my iphone, reconnected to cable and re-sync'ed my backup! everything worked as before ( youtube ).
QED...
Simplest jailbreak / unlock I have EVER DONE!
Thanks to everyone who worked on ZiPhone.Last edited by xover; 02-19-2008 at 04:37 AM.

what version of itunes were you using? Does the youtube and google find me feature work in 1.1.3?
