Weird. It should work fine then. I'd try a restore and update.

Cannot SFTP to iPhone
I don't get it. Neither Fugu nor Cyberduck can connect with my iPhone (I'm on a Mac). I've checked the IP addy and I keep getting a timeout message. WiFi is connected (2 out of three bars), iPhone is activated and jailbroken. Community Sources, BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH are all installed. I just cannot connect via SFTP. Any suggestions? Thanks, in advance!

I'm just trying to clarify.
When FTP-ing things back and forth and using Installer.app you don't need to use a program like iFuntastic or some other way of Jailbreaking? Is this correct? I'd rather not have to keep jailbreaking after every restore. Just using Installer.app seems like it would be a lot easier and not as messy.
Thanks.

Correct, you don't have to. Installer.app allows you to install apps, and SFTP allows you to drag-and-drop files to and from your computer/phone.

Hi
I'm still getting the "couldn't get remote handle" error when I use Cyberduck, Fugu or Transmit.
I'm trying to upload lockdownd.
It seems as if my directory has been changed to "read-only" status or something, I cant write to it
Can someone tell me why this is happening?
* i couldn't change my ssh password in Terminal too - it said "read only"
thanks!

You using SFTP, not FTP? Using correct IP address? iPhone set to auto-lock Never? Port 22, not 21?
-

Yup, SFTP
Yup, IP good
Yup, autolock never
Yup, Port 22
... I'm wondering --- is it because I need to "jailbreak" iPhone using iNdependence as a final step?
I use the "Activation" option in iNdep but don't recall ever pressing the "jailbreak" button ...
Is that why?

Nope, that should have nothing to do with it. You DO have BSD Subsytem and OpenSSH installed, yes?
-
09-26-2007, 02:22 AM #36
Yup
as per ur guide:
Community
then BSD
then SSH
I can SFTP to my iphone with Fugu/Cyberduck/Transmit but after that, I can't upload the lockdownd as it seems to deny me with that "couldn't handle remote" message
Also, Terminal denies me with a "read only" error when I typed passwd
thanks poetic!

I would try uninstalling OpenSSH, reinstalling BSDSubsystem, and then reinstalling OpenSSH.
