The customization worked wonderfully but after I uploaded my ipb file and tried to sync my information with iTunes, I got this error message. I've tried restoring and starting from scratch three times. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you didn't follow the last bit of the tutorial:

Now type
./iPhoneInterface
and return, followed by
cd /System/Library/Lockdown
rmdir Services.plist
putfile Services.plist
exit
Each of those lines has a Return after it. Those last 5 steps are CRUCIAL. You MUST do them, or you're gonna have some lame issues, as in not being able to sync with iTunes anymore. Careful of the capitals again, as well. Notice Services is capitalized.

I am having trouble with the permissions. I modified the firmware version to 1.0.3 in the installipb.pl file, but im still denied... Cant figure out what I am doing wrong to not allow permissions

c-ts-computer:~/phonedmg Magoo$ ./installipb.pl metal_blue.ipb
-bash: ./installipb.pl: Permission denied

Any ideas?

Read the guide, it tells you how to correctly set the permissions.

try downloading a new version of jailbreak. you are having an issue breaking into your phone, not necessarily with the ipb installer.

I just got this message as well.
Changes I made. AppTapp installed, and newest version of iTunes.

Is there a way to use my .ipb files to customize my background and icons with out using the ./jailbreak?

if not then where is the "new" version of jailbreak

Hi I successfully installed my .ipb file and have been using it, but now I want to UNINSTALL IT. how do i do it?! i keep trying to set different themes through my installer app on my iphone, but the icons and themes look all wonky because of the ipb.

PLEASE HELP! i dont want to have to restore my phone...hahah AGAIN!

I have firmware 1.0.2 installed on iphone, and i am running iTunes 7.5.

I follow the ipb installation, this is where I get stuck:

buddog33s-Computer:~/phonedmg buddog33$ ./jailbreak
-bash: ./jailbreak: cannot execute binary file
buddog33s-Computer:~/phonedmg buddog33$

Any suggestions??
