hi there
i'm new to ssh and i installed winscp as it said. for some reason i can't see my pc files all i see are the iphone files. can somebody let me know what i did wrong? is it the setting or firewall or???

Have the same problem [it comes back with an error that says "Connection Timed Out"] didn’t found the reply / answer to jaghockey question. Some ideas? Anyone? … I know this might be a really simple and dumb question but I’m really new in the iphone world [got mine activated, unlocked and Jailbreak without any problem]

For all the people getting Connection timed out...its probably because you didn't install OpenSSH.

Yes, must be no OpenSSH. I tried using iLiberty+ to install OpenSSH but it didn't install it for some reason. Try loading installer program from iLiberty then install OpenSSH from there.

HI I installed BSD and OpenSSH, but later I installed cydia. Now I can't connect to iPhone by SSH and shows error message connection timeout. When I take a look in installer and go to unistall BSDsubsystem, there is just option reinstall, byt error message again, download failed, can anybofy help please?? THX

Hey, I'm an apple noob, just got my iPhone last week. I successfully Jailbroke, used SSH, and installed apps today after reviewing A TON of guides and tutorial videos and I mean A S*** LOAD of written guides and A S*** LOAD of youtube videos. It did take me a little over 4 hours though, but I did it.

I am under AT&T and have the iPhone 3G with 2.0.1 firmware and using Windows XP
I used winpwn 2.0.0.4 and WinSCP 4.1(I think)


It shouldn't take you 4 hours. I was a complete noob this morning, but now I actually know what DFU, Cydia/Installer, SSH, etc. is.

I found this page after already looking at another and had already downloaded WinSCP and figured it would be okay. but when i got to the step when i was supposed to enter a new password it couldnt find puTTy. The guide says if i dont make a new password im vulnerable to hackers. Where is the puTTy and am i vulnerable even when im not connected now?

i did everythings created downloads folder put my app in but i don't know how to open and install the app , i saw the tenermal i tried to connect with the dirrection in there but won't work

when u open terminal in winscp make sure u type all commands without quotes its a common rookie mistake
