i can't find that ~/Library/Itunes/Iphone Software Updates folder.
I hit the Apple+Shift+G and tried to locate it, and it says Folder Can not be found.
UPDATE: I got it. I just made my own.

With the iphone software soon to be upscaled to v2.1 will a phone pwned in 2.0 be able to be upscaled through iTunes or do I have to restore the phone and re-pwn it?

Error 6 means that you're not using the right firmware. You're probably using the hacked version that was released before the official version came out. Download the official version, and try again.

jailbreaked my 16gb iphone 3g using pwnage tool 2.0.1 ,this tutorial is so precised and easy to use . only problem i had was error 6 which i believe means i wasn't in dfu mode ,so i went back to pawnage reattempt to go into dfu mode until i get it right ,it should tell you that your in dfu mode once you've done it correctly ,and then reconnect to itunes to restore your firmware with custom restore firmware. everything works great! no lags unlike my 1st gen iphone .

Everything is working perfectly until I go to Restore my iPhone. It's gets about 95% done and just hangs. It never finishes the restore and my only option is to repeat the firmware update again & repeat. But I've tried it 3x and each time it hangs right at the end of my restore. Any suggestions for solving this would be greatly appreciated. iTunes 7.7.1 & iPhone 3G 2.0 - Thanx!
