Thread: How To: Enter DFU Restore Mode

I don't want your money, and I am not very trustworthy.
The reason I asked was hopefully to prompt you to do some thinking about cost:
If you can afford $250, you should at least consider $1000.
I really wouldn't recommend hiring a random hacker to fix your phone.
I'd guess there's a high probability of losing some of the photos.
Moderate probability of recovering at least half of them.
High probability of recovering at least a few.
Low probability of botching the whole process and recovering none at all.
Its difficult to predict in advance how successful a recovery would be; it depends on a variety of factors (some of which you haven't told us yet).
What model? What size of flash memory?
Older generally means- easier to reflash original software, and the fewer times you need to overwrite NAND, the better.

Crashed iPhone (10-19-2010)

My iPhone is a 3Gs - sorry, I thought it said that in the corner of my posts - but maybe only I can see that? It has never been jailbroken or anything like that, so it's just running on whatever it came with. I got it at Christmas time 2009 - so that should help with the age of it.
The phone has a 16gig memory - but that is just the basic memory size - I don't know if "flash memory" is something different?
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful help and ideas!
