My problem is that anySIM cannot unlock my phone. I ran the program, and it still doesnt work. Can anyone help?
All the info I got from it is:
anySIm cannot unlock this phone. anySIM will now quit.
Please turn off your phone and turn it on again after anySIM quits.

Had that same problem, did you run it before? It's probably installed on your phone already. If you had it running once before and restored your phone anysim will remain on there.

Great to be up to date, even if the mods are small ones!I do NOT use windows!

I had a 1.0.2 unlocked iPhone running just fine. I decided to upgrade to 1.1.1 through the guide. I got as far as activating the 1.1.1 phone but independence didn't allow me. SAid I would need to downgrade to 1.0.2 and then upgrade. I downgraded to 1.0.2, activated the phone but now cannot get it unlocked as per your original guide. It is saying invalid sim card. Please help.

Is there any reason why Poetic Folly has used anySIM rather than iUnlock this time around for his guide?
I thought anySIM was more buggy? thx

What about not installing AnySIM at all?
I did not install anySIM and my iphone works with all of my sims, one AT&T and the other cingular.
What would be the drawback to not using anySIM?
I had a 1.02 unlocked via the MMI method, then followed all of these upgrade to 1.11 instructions with no issues.

so there's still isn't a good way to unlock 1.1.1 OTB, unless we downgrade first?
i thought anysim is the new version of iunlock??
did you use independence 1.2.2??
seems like it's that version of independence's fault
they have come up with a solution

I think i used 1.2.3, or 1.2.4,did you use independence 1.2.2??
seems like it's that version of independence's fault
they have come up with a solution
here
but I knew about that 300mbkiller - that was my original problem,
the 300MB, but I did use that program, and now it sees the entire 7+GB,
but it also shows that 1.3GB is in use by 'other' (as opposed to audio or video or photos...)
I've been on independence's website too to see if i can get a solution,
no luck so far. Someone told me to delete the file .symlink, which I did, but it did not help.
Its a lot of wasted space when the capacity is already pretty low.

Hello originaldub, since you are using a Rogers SIM card, I am guessing you are in Canada, I just purchased a new iPhone and want to unlock it in the next few days and then get a Rogers account.
So you are successfully using ver 1.1.1 unlocked?
Did you activate your phone prior to unlocking?
Thanks

Excellent guide. I used the original 1.0.2 unlock guide and now this guide to upgrade and unlock 1.1.1. Both went without a hitch. Great step-by-step instructions. Thanks!

Its not clear to me if there is a solution to unlock and unactivated 1.1.1 iphone
When last i looked it was all about downgrading to 1.0.2 which i have on my unlocked iphone. Now i have a new out of the box unactivated 1.1.1 and wonder how to proceed:
- can i unlock this 1.1.1 and activate on a different to AT&T carrier
- or must i downgrade to 1.o.2 to unlock and use it?
The wiki talks about unlocking and ACTIVATED phone only

do not need to follow this guide - you can just use independence (assuming you are on a mac). It does downgrade it for you, but then upgrades again. The instructions are in the independence help file.
If you are concerned, you can view this guide:
http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Pre...d_1.1.1_iPhone
Here is the guide to unlocking the 1.1.1:
http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Unl..._iPhone_anySIM
if you are on a PC, I cannot tell you what method to use, as I have not used any of them, but browse the forums - checkoud the guides section & the 'modding in windows' and you'll probably find a one touch solution for windows as well.

I finally got it all working right to the end. Except for some reason, although I used anySIM and installed successfully, it still doesn't say it's a valid SIM.
I use the Vodafone network. Someone help!

Was your sim locked with a pin? I've done 3 phones, 2 were fine, the 3rd the only difference was that the sim was locked, so I am guessing that has somehow messed it up... any ideas anyone how to now get unlocked as anysim won't run a second time....
I do NOT use windows!

Superb!!
Ok Guys....I'm not a Supertechie, neither am I a regular modder of stuff! But I have to say that the guides in this dite ROCK!!
I have no clue why do some ppl have trouble following the simple guides over here.
I bought an unlocked iPhone (1.0.2)...so for that matter I had no clue what was used to unlock it in the first place!
Regardless of that...I really wanted to go on to 1.1.1 for the sheer TV out functionality...i just followed these 4 guieds to the T:
Virginizing your 1.0.2 iPhone for Upgrade to 1.1.1
Upgrading to 1.1.1
Preparing the 1.1.1 iPhone for Unlock/Modding
Unlocking 1.1.1 iPhone
How the hell can you go wrong with such meticulously made guides?!?
I was the posts abt ppl having major problems regarding the 1.1.1 update...
I HAD NONE!!!
I now run a 1.1.1 unlocked using a non AT&T sim with all features...yes..ALL!!
I hope this gives some of you some confidence!!
Thanks!
