Regarding "Downgrade 1.0.2 baseband OS X iPhone"
Sorry guys but I'm having a problem.
For me this step went smoothly "Now lets flash it with the correct baseband version. Type ./bbupdater -f ./ICE03.14.08_G.fls -e ./ICE03.14.08_G.eep"
But at the next step "Awesome! Almost there... now lets type ./bbupdater -v"
I'm supposed to see output:
Resetting target...
pinging the baseband...
issuing +xgendata...
firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_03.14.08_G
eep version: EEP_VERSION:207
eep revision: EEP_REVISION:7
bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:3.9_M3S2
Done
But instead I'm seeing this output again:
Resetting target...
pinging the baseband...
baseband unresponsive to pinging
Done
I already saw that output at the step "Good. Now type ./bbupdater -v Great! Your seczone is repaired."
I'm following the instructions without difficulty.
What went wrong?
I hope I can still get this to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Try uninstall 'open ssh' from installer
then..install 'ssh' from independence from the package
then.. reboot (might not be necessary but i did everytime.(i did this method 3 times already)
dont forget to fix..
ICE03.14.08_G.fls
iUnlock
norz
bbupdater
eliteloader.bin
ICE03.14.08_G.eep
Click on each item, and hit Cmd+i to bring up the Info Window, and make sure it looks like the following image, and has the permissions set to 755. Then hit Apply.
otherwise it wont work!!!
if it still not work, try to uninstall and reinstall "ssh" again. believe me..it work!!!

I have no working phone and no WiFi.
I followed the new instructions to virginize my phone and I got all of the expected responses in the terminal window. When I got to the part in step 2 where it says to open up iTunes to set it up as a new phone, I didn't get that. It synced and had all of my data including but hidden all of my previously installed apps (1.02).
I continued forward by upgrading the firmware to 1.1.1 as per each of the steps and got no errors from iTunes. Step 4 successfully unlocked my iPhone with 1.1.1, however it no longer recognised the phone or the WiFi.
I should have stopped at this point I know, because at least I would have still had apps installed within the phone, but stupidly I tried to restore to v1.02 using the DFU button in iNdependance 1.25 and jailbreak again.
Again I had 1.02 but no phone or wifi. then I reset the phone erasing setting and data.
Soi now I have a 1.02 unlocked phone with no data or apps, except the SSH/SFTP/SCP but no phone or wifi.
I need help to install the virginizer stuff back into it and a local terminal as I can't SSH to it over wifi.
Please help.

After this instruction completes:
./bbupdater -f ./ICE03.14.08_G.fls -e ./ICE03.14.08_G.eep
Type:
./bbupdater -v
And instead of seeing this:
Resetting target...
pinging the baseband...
issuing +xgendata...
firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_03.14.08_G
eep version: EEP_VERSION:207
eep revision: EEP_REVISION:7
bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:3.9_M3S2
Done
You may see this again:
Resetting target...
pinging the baseband...
baseband unresponsive to pinging
Done
Which is no problem.
Just keep going and finish unlocking your phone.Last edited by ccgcairns; 10-30-2007 at 08:20 AM. Reason: Problem Solved: iPhone 1.1.1 Unlocked

I got the error due to having SSH from independence installed so I removed that version of ssh and installed open ssh. Now I get: I/O error: connection failed everytime I try to connect in cyberduck...
Ideas?

I installed ssh via installer instead of independence and had much better luck.
Backed up seczone successfully but get the following message when trying to remove the firmware, relating to firmware differences found??-
Sending End Secpack command
Validating the write command
FW differences found
Completed.
Enjoy!

Ok I did it, it worked...well most of it!
I got stuck at the norz part so I relaunched terminal and skipped that step. I did everything else then I plugged into itunes and did a restore. I now have 1.1.1 running and everything works (I have an AT&T account and just wanted a factory fresh locked phone).
Thanks to everyone involved in getting this to work!

Thanks leroy159 for your help. That did the trick. Thanks also to poetic_folly for writing this guide and to all those who worked on the unlock and related software.

I got stuck because I printed out and then tried to follow the instructions. Apparently I didn't type the correct codes into terminal.
After a while I just copied and pasted the code on the web page instructions into Terminal and then it worked fine - I advise you to do the same.
Once I used cut and paste for the Terminal commands everything worked perfectly and I now have an unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone.
Thank you all so much.Last edited by evo_rallyman; 10-27-2007 at 06:59 AM. Reason: update

After updating to 1.0.2, not activated and jailed!
Hi,
I've performed all the steps in this first part of the tutorial, and I've update my iPhone with a fresh 1.0.2 firmware version. But, when reading the second part, upgrading 1.0.2 iPhone to 1.1.1, iNDependence is not working for me because my iPhone is now jailed and not activated.
What should I do now? Please, help!
