If you have not run jailbreak before the update will it work after the update. My friends iphone stops at the point where jailbreak sends files to the iphone, it stops right at that point. any sgguestions

I had the same problem with version 1.0.1. Try downloading the both versions of the firmware and extract the old one and THEN the new version into your phonedmg directory (replacing existing files). That fixed my problem. I updated the guide with links and instructions. Hope this helps.

STep 7 is not working for me, theres no step to hit "enter" I mean, i obviously dont need to be told that but when I enter the CD cphonedmg nothing happens, the text is just there, can anyone help?

Hi there everyone!

At step 7, with my iphone connected and itune(NOT IN MY COM).
The thing just stop here... been waiting for the respond to hold the buttons...but .. here goes...

The first time i did not DL the second version of firmware (Cuz it says only if you have 1.0)

I hung on booting iphone

So i went ahead and downloaded the second one, extraced it, replaces files, ectt

it still hanging on booting ...

Before you even mod the phone, you must down load itunes 7.32 and run/load it on your computer, now you can plug in your iphone to your pc and see the screen say wating to activate, when the computer sys with your iphone then follow step 1 to end iphone in your computer and run jailbreak

i just tried to do this process, my i phone has the newest update on it, and is registered and all that. I do every step even download the update or whatever that was, i run jail break and it holds up on booting iPhone, after about 20 mins the iphone simply shuts off and the connention is lost to the computer, i turn it back on and everything is as it was i have no loose of contacts songs, sms conversations nothing, any idea on how i can get this to work.

yeah, no luck here. i have itunes 7.5.0.20 and iphone version 1.1.1. the process locks up on "booting" and then after 25 minutes it tells me i have to learn to hold it longer, buddy! what's going on here?

i saw someone say this is outdated and to check the wiki. what's that?
