Blocking unwanted text messages?

Hoping someone can help. I've done some searching but can't find a good solution to this yet.

Since our wonderful government opened up the do not call list recently, I have been getting 10-12 text messages per day trying to sell me Viagra, Cialis, etc. Incredibly annoying...especially when they come at 3am and my phone chimes every 10 minutes to remind me about the text message.

These messages are coming in from email addresses as opposed to phone numbers. I read a bit about iBlacklist, but it sounds unreliable. My carrier is T-mobile but they don't seem to have an answer either.

I re-registered on the do not call list (donotcall.gov) but I have little faith that this will fix the problem. Thanks in advance for your help!!

I use Rogers here, in canada, and they have an app that allows you to do that. It's called "Rogers my account" may not work for you though, but I block many numbers daily.
