BBC iplayer 3g working **VIDEO**
Just downloaded the BBC iplayer app from cydia and used it with 3g unrestrictor and it's working! Radio worked straight away but on video the play icon didn't come so I refreshed page and about 30 secs after it show play sign then it was working over 3g.
Did a quick search and didn't find nothing posted so hope I'm not duplicating.
Wait what the hell! Now it's telling me I need wifi
can someone else try please try, this is working on and off not sure why

I cant get it to work using the unrestrictor, did you fiddle with anything else to get it working on 3G?

it says in the details of 3g unrestrictor that the iPlayer will NOT work.

No I didn't do anything just downloaded the app then added it to 3g unrestrictor. I know it's not meant to work as iplayer knows when your using this phone.
What happens is 75% of time it says connect to wifi to view programme.
25% I see the programme but without the play sign. I tapped on the programme pic then the play sign comes up and it streams over 3g.
ok im uploading a video on youtube now and will post a video when its finished

It never used to work because it was run through Mobile Safari, and the WiFi checking was server side. However since i installed the iPlayer app from Cydia, added it to 3G Unrestrictor and set the IsDirect flag it works perfectly.
However i doubt it has much practical use, although streaming seems fluid on 3G, it’ll use vast amounts of data and I’m sure your network provider wouldn’t take to long to contact you over your increased usage!!

i've done everthing but its not working for me at all, i did set the IsDirect flag in 3G Unrestrictor but that made no difference for me,
would be nice to get this to work as im with orange and i get unlimited internet and mean unlimited, as i normally use about 7 - 8 gigabytes a month without any problems
the way i can get it to work over 3g is to create a VPN on my pc at home, so i connect to that from my iphone, load bbc iplayer and find a video i want (in safari) and then disconnect the VPN connection and go back to safari and click play.... that works great for me, but only 1 problem... my pc is not on 24/7 so its no good if someone at home turns my pc off and then goes out so i cant ask em to turn it back on...
Anyone else had any luck with getting it to work 3G Unrestrictor and iplayer from cydia ????
