Default Iphone won't get new mail on public wifi
    Hello,

I am using Iphone 3G, firmware 3.0, jailbroken.
I have a problem with public wifi. When I open mail, it keeps loading forever and it cannot get new mails. But I can still open youtube, update weather and stock smoothly. The Problem also happens to IM! with push. when I turn on accounts (yahoo + facebook), click on tab "contacts" and it loads like forever

I don't have this problem with my home wifi. everything works fine.

    any explanation and suggestion?
    Sorry for my poor english
    Thank you,

    JuL LeVi

The public wifi you are connecting to probably has blocked all ports except port 80, which is used for http traffic. Only leaving that port open limits the amount of bandwidth people can use. IM+ uses whichever services you are connecting to's ports (not 80), mail uses 110, 143, 993, 25, 587, etc. Things like youtube, weather, etc go through the http protocol and therefore port 80. Unless you can find another public wifi that doesn't block those things....:-(
If I helped you, bang on that 'Thanks' button.
