Yeah this is beyond amazing! I'm going to try setting up a domain name at no-ip.com that redirects to my dynamically assigned IP address from verizon.net that way I can remote control my iMac at home.

Of course if anyone is doing this already it would be great to hear about it - like what settings need to be setup on your home LAN router.

Wait no further windows users, after much digging and searching I stumbled across a useable remote control utility for the iphone that allows full control of the desktop pc. Hop on over to

http://cre.ations.net/creation/webvn...on-your-ipnone

As you can gather from the url it relies on a modded version of TightVNC, found this today at work and will be testing as soon as I get home, hopefully this will allow me to log in to WOW at work and spam barrens chat (if you dont get it you dont get it )

Just started using this program and its great but the prob is it only works at home. obviously a remote connection does me no good at home. I have a dynamically assigned ip 192.168.1 do I need a static IP in order for this to work away from home or is there some kind of port forward I can set up? I tried setting up a port forward from port 5000-5012 but no luck I think the whole dynamic IP is throwing it off. Any help would surely be appretiated thanks

You don't need a static IP, but you do need to know your true external IP, and forward the port(s) to your local one on your router. When you sign in with Telekinesis away from home either via Edge or a different WiFi network, you need to use that IP instead of the local one.

You can find your IP by logging into one of the many websites designed for that, like:

You can also use www.dyndns.org for free re-direct and domain names.
