Can i download the new apps apple has onto my jailbroken ipod touch

i didnt buy the january software upgrade when it came out and i jailbroke my ipod. now that the apple store brought more apps , can i still download them onto my itouch? The reason is because I want to have mail, notes, maps and stocks on my itouch since I couldn't get them by jailbreaking my itouch.

just spend the $9.99 for the 2.0 upgrade you'll have all those apps and the appstore to buy any apps from iTunes you want.

and you can still jailbreak and use cydia for even more apps for free.
