[HELP] BBC iPlayer "error playing movie" ?!
My friend has a newly jailbroken/unlocked 1.1.4 iphone using iLiberty 1.3 for windows.
Everything works fine, internet, installer, youtube etc. etc.
however, when going to play a video at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer
the video hangs in quicktime then says
"error playing movie"
then drops back to the website again.
I cant find any thread or help for this? Please help!!
OK,
i jailbroke/unlocked my dads at the same time as my friends yesterday.
I used iLiberty 1.3 for windows, and installed everything as standard except cydia and chose installer instead.
The bbc iPlayer does not work on either iphone, brand new, 1.1.4 4.6 BL jb/ul .
This is where im confused. Ive had an iphone since early december, 1.1.1 otb and i restored to 1.1.4 and re JB and ul etc. same steps as the other 2 phones, and iplayer always has and continues to work on my phone.
Is it the 3.9 fb bootloader? it is the only difference between our phones.
An explanation and or a fix would be extremely helpful please and would help many others. There are lots and lots of questions floating around the iphone forums but absolutely no answers
Pretty please

using cydia instead of the installer payload is the only difference...
weird thing is, my friend was round my house earlier, tried to play something from iPlayer -> "error playing movie" and flashed back to website.
tapped it again and worked fine. (first time its ever worked, was very weird)
very odd, most likely a bug with the iplayer site rather than the iphone i guess.

Same problem
I'm having the same problem, but it's not limited to just BBC iplayer. I've tried many quicktime sites using safari and get the same error every time.
Interestingly youtube videos load and run just fine.
Same specs as reeko actually--new iphone purchased, ran iLiberty+ 1.5 to jailbreak/activate/unlock, installed international tools and the installer only.
Interestingly, had another iphone two days ago that I had to return--activated the o2 contract and couldn't get any service near my house (odd-inner London!), and they said the only way to cancel the contract was to return the phone. So I did, then went to another shop and got a new one.
Anyway, that phone I ran the same process on except didn't run the activate process, just jailbreak and unlock. I was running iplayer no problem on that phone. So must be a strange bug.
Any way to reinstall the quicktime tools or only by restoring in itunes and starting over?

Hi guys,
I was looking for a fix for this forever, found it at the appledailytimes repo.
This is what you need to do:

Hi I have seen a number of postings on BBC Iplayer, but still cannot get iplayer working on my Iphone. I have downloaded the appletimes cookie fix but still when I go to the Iplayer, it will not show me a play icon on the web site (as it does on my laptop). It shows me a picture of the show but where the play icon should be is a guidance warning, even though once I verified my age (actually the first time it gave me this option was after I installed the appletime fix).
Would really appreciate any input anyone can provide. Thanks

I just tried BBCiplayer on my 1.1.4 unlocked, jailbroken iphone and it works great, even tried apple trailers and that worked aswell, what other sites are there with the same sort of content, i know this does not help the OP but i like my iphone even more now

I got mine working by installing these plugins to download things off safari. I was very surprised when the iPlayer started working. But it seems like the other fix works by the feedback.
