Thumbs up A pretty cool newsreader for iPhone and iPod Touch, free!

It’s a free Internet information browser for mobile phones. You can read, organize and save news and images gathered from the Web on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Not just RSS feeds, but a lot of regular websites as well. Content is downloaded via GPRS or WiFi and is available online or offline. No desktop synchronization is needed. Nothing to install on your phone. You can select your favorite websites from hundreds of existing channels and you can add your own RSS feeds.

    - It has a noticeably higher access speed
    - You may request to add your own websites to the service.
    - You can add websites to the service yourself with minimal knowledge of XSL and XPath queries.
    - Registration via SMS, ability to organize channels into groups, etc.

You may give it a try at www.mdigger.net/iphone.

No, you don't need any requests to subscribe to as many channels as you want. And these are channels to regular websites, not RSS feeds. If you want to have your own RSS feeds then yes, you need to email. But the limit increase usually takes just a few hours if not minutes to go into effect.
