Background/wallpaper issue

I just recently switched from Blackberry to the Iphone 3GS, and had a friend upgrade to the 4.0 OS. However, now it is showing my lock screen wallpaper behind all my apps. Is there a way to separate those two? I still want the image on the lock screen, but i prefer the plain black behind my apps. Help?

Go to Settings, then to wallpaper. you will see the images that are on your idevice lockscreen and homescreen. click it then choose where to get your new wallpaper from. (wallpaper or camera roll) You may need yo take a picture with your finger over the camera to get a completely black background, or find a black background to download. after you select the wallpaper you want, it will ask if you want to apply to the lockscreen the homescreen or both.
