video wallpaper sticks on homescreen

Hi everyone,...I'm new to this forum...how are ya all doin'?

well,.....I hope someone can help,. I just figured out how to
ssh, because at my homescreen I have a video wallpaper background....however, the ipod will not dim and go into sleep
mode,.....the video wallpaper just continues to refresh and never
shuts down. I wouldn't mind this, however, it will use up my
battery life unless you guys know of some trick I dont!
(wouldn't doubt that one!)
anyway, so yea, if anyone knows how I can get the video wallpaper
to stop refreshing and for the lockscreen to engage, let me know.
Also, I am running 3.1.2 on a 3rd gen. ipod touch ...blackra1n
oh, and I'm ssh'ing the downloaded vwallpaper into winterboard manually.
